Sunrise Transforms our Fanciful Waterfront Creatures back into their Harmless Driftwood Disguises.

I love driving along the Ediz Hook, before sunrise, to "see" all the the "driftwood creatures" I can imagine, while they are still cloaked in shadow....This is one of my favorites....

Fanciful shoreline Creature, about to be transformed, by the rising Sun, into harmless daytime driftwood...

Well I'm off again!
ps....My participation, here on Photo Blog, will be very limited for a month or so, while I tour with my Son on his speaking engagements. I'll drop in here & there, as time permits! Have a lovely Holiday Season!

Thanks Abe! It was a beautiful morning to be out on the Ediz Hook(google it). I usually go out there for sunrises & sunsets, because it's just a thin strip of land with water on both sides and no visual obstructions in any direction...smile

ps....my participation, here on PB, will be very spotty, at best, from now through September, due to long a road trip, with little or no computer time.... I'll chime in, when I can....
Cheers!

Thanks, Sis!
It was a lovely morning for saying "sweet dreams" to our local driftwood "buddies", as they metamorphize from their "spooky" night time identity to their innocuous day time "gig".....grinning

Supercool!
(Thank you for the e-mail Jay, and sorry if I did not reply. I was focused on the coming-out and I lost track of everything. I apologize)

No worries, sweetie!
I don't take it personally...
I know we all have responsibilities & obligations, far beyond and more pressing than keeping up with emails here on PB. Nevertheless, it's always a treat hearing from you, no matter what/when/etc.........
I love your hamsters sleeping posture! My grand puppy, "Happy", has some weird sleeping postures, as well.
I'll send you picture of him in one of his odd postures.....
Cheers!

Thank You, Sis!
I love to creep along the Ediz Hook (see Google) in my car or on foot, at sunrise & sunset, looking for things to capture. Every time is different, due to weather conditions, tides, animals, time of day, my mood and, of course, dumb luck! I never tire of hunting. Growing up, near the wilds of south Texas, like my Dad, I was hunting deer, rabbits, quail, ducks, doves, turkeys and what ever else was good to eat. Now I just want to capture them with my camera.

Reminds me of a Gargoyle on overwatch of the bay. Cool shot and great timing.

Time to rest after a night full of emotions. It really looks like a monster of a children's book. smile

Thanks, Amigo!
Yes, this "Driftwood Monster" hunts only after dark........
During the day, he is very peaceful, happily letting children climb all over him, with no threat of harm...

First the 'Frog-dragon' and now the 'prince of rats' watching out of his cave...You live in an area full of fantasy creatures...Doesn't that inspire you to write a fantasy novel? smile

Jay Boggess Replied to Heike 6 months, 1 week ago

Hahahahahhaaaaa......."he" does look very rat-like.....now that you mention it!
Even from my childhood, my imagination was always very active,
seeing fanciful "things", in otherwise common things.....
I have so many interests now days, that I doubt I have the discipline needed to write&publish a book, but I appreciate your vote of confidence!grinning +1

We have been having some pretty spectacular sky colors, during sunrise & sunsets!
From childhood, it's always been fun to try to imagine ambiguous shapes being some kind of life form....
