Day 43- National Pride

We've been so thrilled to be part of the Photoblog community this year. While ultimately we started this project as a creative outlet and to improve our skills, we have found that it has also led to us being networked with other photographers all over the world. We've gotten to see photography spanning the globe and have received many lovely comments from people thousands of miles from our own neighbourhood. The sense of community is wonderful.

Today we are especially aware of a sense of global community as we watch the opening of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games in Vancouver, BC. Being Canadians, we're incredibly proud to be the host nation and to open our doors to the world. Our photos today feature our national emblem, the maple leaf, as a sign of our national pride.

There is not much that's considered more Canadian than hockey. Hask took this photo of a tag on a hockey jersey. The only way this gets any more Canadian is to dip it in maple syrup.

Dro literally decided to show us the money. This shot shows the metallic detailing on Canadian currency.

I hadn't realised you were Canadian. Lovely country - had 2 three week holidays there back in 2000 and 2002. Happy memories of Vancouver, Vancouver Island, Montreal, Toronto, Quebec and Manatoulin Island.
