Day 228- Buoy Oh Buoy!

Lately we've been considering the equipment that we have and our mental “wish list” of lenses and camera bodies that we'd like to eventually add to our arsenal. One lens that consistently gets mentioned is the 50mm f/1.4 prime. We can't help but be suckers for a lens that is amazingly sharp while also being super fast.

In the meantime, we do find ourselves often reaching for our 50mm f/1.8 which is considered by many to be a lens that provides the best bang for the buck. As we wandered around Fisherman's Wharf in Eastern Passage today, we did all of our shooting with this lens, the “nifty fifty”.

Hask photographed some of the brightly painted buoys lining a wharf.

Hask also photographed this lobster pot overlooking the water. The spider web in the bottom tells of unuse and makes the black and white seem appropriate here.

Dro captured one of the mooring ropes tied on to a rusty dock cleat along the edge of the main wharf.

Dro also photographed a closeup of some of the ropes holding up buoys, such as in the first shot of this set.

Absolutely beautiful shots. These would look great framed as a series right next to each other.
