Day 243- Derailed

Possessing certain attributes can definitely aid in being a decent photographer. Steady hands, a keen sense of observation, and willingness to get a little dirty to get the shot are all close to the top of the list. Tonight we added another attribute- being quick on your feet.

We were shooting on a local train track after dark and within five minutes, we could hear rumbling approaching and saw the light of a train coming from up around the bend. We were along a stretch of track that was fenced so we had to scoop up our gear and actually run toward the train to get to a break in the fence. We easily made it safely away from the tracks as the train passed by, but we couldn't help but feel like we thwarted danger to get our shots. Next week- skydiving photos.
Just kidding.

Hask's shot of one of the railway signs. It is actually being illuminated by the approaching train.

Dro managed to get a shot of the track before we had to make our escape. Our exit route can be seen up ahead on the left hand side.

I like the atmosphere of 2, its colors and its light ...
We would imagine in an old movie of the 40s or the 50s.
