Nearly every day, we cross the MacDonald Bridge on our journey to work. We've maintained the same commute for a couple of years now and as such, we don't often stop to consider the infrastructure that makes that daily drive possible.
Beneath one end of the bridge runs a street that provides a closer look at the intricate system of columns and supports that were engineered to allow safe passage for all who cross above. This evening we ventured there to admire the view from below the bridge that we seldom see. While we might not always see the things that support us, it's good to know that they're always there to keep us up. That applies to far more than bridges.
