I'm quite big on social media. Snapchat, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, I have them all. But I don't think they're healthy.
I spend most of my free time browsing them, when I'm bored I'll constantly be picking up my phone and cycling through the apps, completely out of habit.
Sometimes, you just need to say enough is enough. Sometimes, you need to unlock yourself from the tethers of social media and have some "alone time".
That's exactly what I'm doing. I've deactivated most of my social media and just logged off/deleted the apps off of my phone from the others. Reddit is the only one I'll keep because I enjoy reading through the threads on there.
I'll probably also "ghost" my friends for a couple of days, too. I feel like I need to disconnect from the world for a little while and recharge. What better way to do that than right at the beginning of a new year?
