When we moved to our present home in Cypress, Texas seven years ago we specifically chose this lot at the end of a cul-de-sac that was next to a lake. We knew it was THE one. The perfect spot for incorporating as much nature as possible into a non-rural suburban setting. We love watching the ripples of the lake flow steadily. Water levels rising and lowering from the rain.
Although the lake is man-made it is so full of life. Red-eared turtles sunning themselves along the edge. Trees, skies and landscape dotted with colorful birds, ducks and other waterfowl swallowing up small fish. It has become our escape from the hustle and bustle of life near the big city.
Egrets, Ducks, Cormorants, Gray Herons, Pelicans and, believe it or not, Bald Eagles, are residents of the lake. I assume they have become regulars so I can try my best to get a great photograph. But they probably have a different agenda.
What a blessing to be among God's creations.
