Ohio City II (bonus: Hudson vs. Wadsworth)

Today's photos show the second half of the Ohio City hike. I don't know how I came up with 12 photos…

As an added bonus (no additional charge), you also get to see photos from last night's Hudson Boys Basketball sectional game against Wadsworth at Copley.

The basketball team now sports the logo I introduced to the Hudson baseball team in 2003.

Tough loss for the Explorers. Up two with :30 left, a kid misses two free throws that would have put the game out of reach. Instead, Wadsworth drains a three-pointer with :06 left to go up one. Hudson was unable to muster even a shot.

I guess it's good to see that even the figures on signs are wearing bicycle helmets…

Massimo da Milano is the location of our wedding reception in October.

An interesting mural facing W. 25th.

A closeup of the mural.

St. John's Episcopal Church is the oldest church in Cleveland. Built in 1836 with some stones from the nearby Cuyahoga River, it served as Station Hope on the Underground Railroad during the Civil War. A secret basement tunnel leads to Lake Erie, where, it is presumed, runaway slaves could escape via boats to Canada.

Hmm….

This sign made me chuckle…

Franklin Circle Christian Church is where James A. Garfield (20th US President) preached after graduating from college (Hiram College and Williams College). The church was built in 1875.

A light fixture on the Franklin Circle Christian Church.

An interesting set of doors.
