Arena Football (New York at Cleveland)

Six of us (Julie, Bryan, Julie's Dad, Stephanie, Steph's Dad, and me) headed down to Quicken Loans Arena to check out the inagural game of the Cleveland Gladiators (relocated from Las Vegas). I've seen a lot of football, but this was my first Arena Football game. Everyone had a lot of fun!

Player introductions

This one came out great!

I believe this was the first play of the game for the Gladiators and it resulted in a touchdown to a wide-open receiver.

Between Stephanie, Steph's dad, and me, I won the attendance guessing game. I guessed 15,000 and there was over 17,000 in the house.

Check out the helmet on the umpire…

The end zone is not a bad place to sit for AFL games. The fans get to keep any balls that enter the stand during the game and several field goals during pregame got up this high (usually when they kicked from 15 to 20 yards out.

Big win for the Gladiators in their opener! And since they scored over 50, everyone in the crowd gets…

…a free Big Mac!
