Jackie Robinson Night

Stephanie and I trekked down to Progressive Field tonight to see the Boston Red Sox take on the host Cleveland Indians. Tonight was not only Jackie Robinson Day, but also Dollar Dog Night. Woo hoo!

The sky in this shot was too blue for me not to post it…

The video montage tribute to Jackie Robinson. This is either the second or third Jackie Robinson Day in which I have been at a Major League Baseball game.

For one day, any player in the league is able to wear a #42 jersey in honor of Jackie Robinson. This is a composite of the three Red Sox that wore #42: Third base coach DeMarlo Hale, DH David Ortiz, and CF Coco Crisp. Grady Sizemore wore #42 for the Indians, but I didn't think of doing this until after the game and couldn't fit my pictures of him into the composite.

I like this shot because you can see the ball ricocheting of Manny Ramirez's bat. (sepia)

Dollar Hot Dog Night! Woo Hoo!

Since it is Dollar Dog Night, I had to put in a shot of the Hot Dog Race. It's not Milwaukee, but hey… Steph likes that the Onion (in the white) is carrying a purse. Ketchup (red) won the race.

The vendors at Progressive Field are wearing fluorescent yellow shirts, so I thought it would be funny to take an Accent Color shot using the yellow. (accent color)

Tonight was Jed Lowrie's (the batter) Major League debut.

A focuso shot of the field and scoreboard.
