Vieux Carre

There are still a lot of gas lamps in the Quarter. Combined with the sounds made by the mule-drawn carriage tours, there is a really neat effect that takes you back to the 1800s.

Ready for Halloween…

A standard Creole cottage. This is actually the back of the house. The shutters have many purposes, including hurricane protection, privacy, and a way around a door and window tax once levied by the city.
