trying to be invisible...

meeting mommy moose

when I
met you
face to face
my smallness
wanted to become
even smaller - invisible

day 8 - while sitting on a log with my son Kevin in Rocky Mountain National Park, I heard him say “what the f… is that?” as he looked over his shoulder. Then he said, “DON'T MOVE!”. A mother moose and her baby came barreling out of the trees, heading straight toward us. I felt myself trying to shrink as the baby passed us, less than three feet from us. Then mommy moose, hesitated as she passed, grunted then moved past. They entered the water… then my heart began to beat again…

Amazing capture!!! Not everyone gets to see moose, and especially a mom w her baby! Needless to say (but I'm still saying it, lol), great shot!

Nice to share such an exciting experience with your son, especially since there was no "blood-letting"! Great presence of mind to get the shot!

Absolutely amazing. The most wildlife I get to see here in Sydney is the occasional possum.

Great to capture them in the wild. I was able to see one when I traveled to Canada.
