Why I love going to Belgium

by Susan January. 16, 2009 1073 views

First of all because J's grandma (bomma) is there and I've adopted her. She wasn't feeling to well, so I only photographed her hand. I love the hands of older people. J's grandma is already 93 and still living on her own.

Second of all because it's food heaven. J's grandma is synonimous for Kriek beer (a cherry flavored beer) Heavinly after a 2 hour drive!

And let's not forget breakfast. Pistolets (very airy crunchy bread rolls, in J's family eaten with butter and soft sugar)

And of course croissants!!

Her hands remind me of my Oma's hands...so soft. I need to visit her this weekend so I can hold them.

Hands tell stories as well as faces do. Beer and bread can't be beat.

The bread rolls look great.
And I agree with you, hands are fascinating to look at.
