vanille flavored dough, rolled into a square with a zip lock bag (annotated)

chocolate flavored dough, same principle (annotated)

on top of each other and than rolled and chilled in the fridge for an hour

cut in to really cute rounds half a centimeter thick

in the oven for 20 minutes on 175C

makes for a looooooooooooot of cookies. So bring out the Cookie Monster :-)

I love the idea of the bag - I'm going to have to nip that.

great idea with the bag -
chocolate chip cookies, pinwheel biscuits if I could get my hands on them my diet and exercise program would be out the window.

recipe said vanilla essence, I used vanilla aroma instead (and forgot the sugar in the vanilla dough, which in taste I really don't miss)

We used to call these pinwheels. Use the same concept with puff pastry dough or pizza dough and tomato sauce and pesto or cheese to make appetizers.

Cooks, what kind of vanilla do you mean? Scraping out a real vanilla pod, or using a vanilla extract? Definitely one to try...

I can't take credit for this brilliance. Found the recipe http://mybutteryfingers.blogspot.com/2009/06/back-to-basics.html But as we say in the NL, better stolen well than made up yourself badly :-)
