A memory from June 2001

Those that know me are aware that I have been to New York both before and after 9/11. This picture was taken riding the Staten Island Ferry back into Manhatten harbour in June 2001.

I returned to New York in April 2004 and was relieved to find a city, whilst still mourning the loss of such a terrible price, wanting to embrace life, visitors and still be good old New York.

We may have our own opinions on what happened after that day six years ago, right or wrong.

However, we all know where we were when we heard the news. If, like me, you were shocked by the loss of innocent life then I would say that as long as we remember then the buildings, planes and people are never really gone.
