The magic marble!!

I've always loved marbles! Found this one today and it made me think about a book I had as a child… “Tommy and the Magic Marble” now very much worse for the wear as you can see from the second last photo!
Funny how one little discovery leads to another …the marble lead me to look for a set of old books I can't bear to throw away. Some were mine as a child and others I bought for my own children now 20 and nearly 18!!Some my mother bought for my kids and my sister's kids and others I clearly remember my big sister Moira and big brother Tom sending to my younger brother George and I when they lived away in the BIG city of London and we missed them so much.
Thankfully I located them in a case in the top of my wardrobe.Simple pleasures!

A little rainbow light in the marble perhaps?

10p !!!

I particularly loved Moose ,Ernest in the wild west and I used to know all the words to the Quangle Wangle's hat off by heart!!

Was Ernest in the Wild West the same as the "Dove sei Ubaldo?" where you have to find Ubaldo who has a stripey orange and white jumper and hat? Maybe another book forgotten the English title .

Oh I have books like that that I can't bear to part with .I think I recognize which ones were my kids.
There was one I sent to you and brother George too while in London , I remember "no-one like you" which sounded like a verse our cousin's grandson Jacob's nursery wrote to him leaving to the bigger nursery . Did you read it?
These books have certainly done their rounds to you and George then to my three and back to your two, now to read to Logan so nice.
Love the marbles
