operation take back august

A few years ago I took a 2 week road trip from Denver to San Fran (and back) with my cousin and her four girls. She had lost her husband to cancer the year before so we decided to take back August and see the wild west in a bad ass Yukon-- rental of course 😉. For better or for worse, It was a memorable trip for all of us. 

Our first stop was Zion National Park but not without a lunch in Pando, an aspen grove in Fishlake National Forest that's said to be one of oldest and most massive living organisms in the world. If you've never been, I highly recommend. 

After Zion, we headed west to Yosemite for a few nights under the big sky. Those stars in the California night sky are something else, eh? 

From Yosemite, we headed to San Fransisco, then Salt Lake City and finally a last nights sleep on the road in Steamboat Springs, CO before heading back to Denver. Here are a few highlights from OTBA 2013:
