Sunday rambling

Mornings start early here during this time of year. Lately, the temperature in this part of the world has been breaking heat records. We even hit 121 degrees! Luckily for us people of the Coachella Valley, we got a little break. Well, sort of, with some cloud cover. This brought humidity and the temperature down to a more tolerable 112 degrees! (Cue the canned suspense sound track.) Anyhow, we usually start off our days around here early, regardless of the weather as my husband leaves for work before 4 AM every day. However, today was the first day of his vacation. I knew this morning I needed to go out for a drive when I saw that there was still the lingering clouds from yesterday, as that meant there were going to be some spectacular sunrise views. So, I joyfully woke my sleeping husband and said I am going out to take pictures and said, "You coming?" Well, I guess I didn't really say it in a tone of a question, I kind of stated that he was coming and he said something to the effect of yes, how about an hour from now and I said something about taking the dog out and we had to hurry because we had to move quickly because we were going to be missing out on this good morning sunlight...and yada yada yada. You know something, I am thankful that I married this man and that he asked me. We are in the fifth month of our new married life and still on what seems like an endless honeymoon. He loves and supports me and most importantly makes me laugh. What more can I want? He drove me around for a few hours this morning and we saw things in our "backyard" that I had never seen before.

Happy Sunday to you all where ever in the world you are. Enjoy the little moments and the good light.
