Escape

My driver's license was revoked almost 365 days ago. The anniversary of that sad day is coming up soon. It happened around the same time that I was let go from my position as the controller of a golf cart company here in Palm Desert, CA. One of the two things was the best thing that ever happened to me. I guess you can guess which was the best thing, right? Yes, the losing the job part. I really do my not like not being able to pick and go where ever I like. Yes, I can drive illegally if I want to take a risk but have not been doing that. Hopefully, my doctor will give me back my license. So, mainly, I have to rely on my husband to drive me every where or the kindness of my friends. I really need to start relying on Uber and the transportation system out here in the desert. Anyhow, I had an idea as I wanted to revamp my photog business and stand out from the others. I do not wish to be in the biz of shooting children and infants or weddings. I do want to focus more on women and building self-esteem, lifestyle and such. Anyhow, I got a vision in my head to shoot two girls, on vacation, walking through Palm Springs. I had to improvise on a few of the props. I lost a camera. One of the models had a change of plans. I had wanted to keep it under 60 minutes. (The shoot lasted 29 minutes - start to finish). It was the most fun I have had in a long time. Will it make me money? Probably not. Will it get me noticed? Hopefully. It was great practice and so much fun. I don't think I can ever go back and work in an office again. I was suffocating in accounting, I just did it to pay the bills and keep my kids fed. Sometimes, we as people, not just as women and men, we forget about ourselves, and put everyone else, our kids, partners, work, parents, pets, you name it - in front of us and we are the ones whose needs are not being met. So, I need to work on a few things. Enjoy your day and week and the last few days of 2017 whoever you are that is reading this.

This was one of the test shots. (Just noticed that the comments that were one here originally were omitted?!?)

This is a shot of me with the model. I generally have a shot of me with every model I work with in some manner such as this.

Sometimes the best things are happening on their own - things we could have done by own choice a long time! Loosing and  changing a job is one of them! Sadly sometimes all changes come at once ...
So 2018 will be a new year with different ideas and new goal by your own choice - the pictures are telling this story well!

Yes, that is so true.  This past year so many good things have happened that I am thankful for.  Glad I have found an outlet to express myself :)  I think 2018 is going to be fun for sure.
