Empty Shops network conference, Colchester; visiting Slack Space.
A little explanation: there are an increasing number of initiatives to occupy our empty high street premises with projects and activity instead of watching them decay. The benefits are obvious, regeneration is more likely to happen if an area doesn't look totally derelict. These “meantime” projects are run on a shoestring but good things come of them.

exhibition to celebrate 30years of Wivenhoe May Fair; made me laugh, moved to the area around 1983; I did try to see if I recognised anyone in the photos; I recognised the general activity; funny how the hippy ethic has clung on

Slack Space, anything but slack

making some noise

creative plumbing
