Unfortunately, I haven't been able to post because a lack of internet in Rotorua but that has not prevented me from taking a lot of pictures of the AMAZING activities in which I have been partaking.
Learning about Mauri culture, Zorbing, white water rafting, and overall having a great time with all of the new friends I've made. This week, as unexpected as it was because I wasn't told all of these amazing things I'd be doing in advance, has been a pivotal point for me in falling in love with New Zealand. I'm glad I didn't stay just in Auckland City and had the chance to explore the real heart of the country.
Rotorua is actually situated inside an active volcano. Everything about the way that the society is structured in the area seems to be adapted around this fact. The native people who have created their whole lifestyle around their access to hot pools are some of the most fascinating people I've ever seen. Right now I'm having the “Avatar” effect. I want to be these people. They lead a really simple life which has a beautiful, rich routine.
If you know me well, you know I don't really feel at home anywhere and I'm comfortable living anywhere. These people make me feel like there is something worthwhile in having a home.
My head is spinning right now. I couldn't even tell you where I'll be tomorrow. I guess we'll just have to wait and find out…
