Intrigue 46/365

These days I find intrigue at the grocery store.  Found this little rambutan in the produce section and thought it would be fun to photograph so I had to buy it.  Cost me a whopping $.30.

I wasn't sure how to go about eating it so of course I had to google it.  I thought I'd have to deal with all that "hair" in some way.  But no...just make a slit and pop the fruit out.

Looks like something out of a sci-fi or horror movie

It's got a white fruit in the center which is sort of the texture of a peeled grape but a little softer and weirder. At first I didn't think I could handle the texture but it grew on me.  The fruit tasted good...sweet with a slight hint of almond.

That's my first and probably last rambutan.  While tasty I'd rather eat an apple :-)

Definitely intrigued me, had to stop and read. Never seen this fruit before but you have captured it. Sure does look like sci- fi stuff. Great, story and capture!
