June 4th

It was a long drive across Tasmania today, from Strahan to the state capital of Tasmania, close to five hours in the car. It was certainly beautiful countryside, though, & a pleasant enough drive. We arrived in time for a tour of the amazing Shene Estate & Distillery just outside of Hobart, makers of the double-gold award winning gin, Poltergeist, at the World Gin Awards in San Francisco. The tour was followed by a tasting; it was easy to see why it won the award.

They're Highlands Cattle, I think they originate from Scotland.  I've never seen them in Australia before, maybe Tassie is the only place it gets cold enough!
