Cool...

Ambition to get out and shoot and cold days don't always go together very well. I'm still waiting on some more Hoar Frost days to get out. Until then, I thought I would put up some other images matching the Cool Theme.

Later this month we are heading to Lake Louise, Alberta for the Ice Festival and hopefully things will cooperate to get some decent shots there.

A frosty morning out at Whitewater Lake in SW Manitoba. Whitewater Lake is a great place to go during the spring and fall migration. I'll put together another post later of some of the birds I've gotten there.

I didn't have to go any further than the glass panels on the deck to get this frosty one. The sun had just come up so within a hour most of it had faded away.

Another from the Whitewater Lake area. As I was driving to the lake, the ditch water had frozen over and crystallized into some nice patterns. I should have stuck around longer and put more effort into better shots.

An early morning view over Cochrane, Alberta - where we happen to be at the moment. Taken part way up the Cochrane Hill on the turn out. I would like to find a better vantage point with less light standards in the frame. The Rockies in the distance are nicely covered in snow.

Thank you Jolien, I appreciate the comment and you taking time to look. There is beauty in winter, just hard to generate the motivation.

These are all really stunning photos, but I love, love, love the colors and textures in #3. Fantastic winter set!
