At the Orchard

Our friend, Shannee asked if we wanted to join her for berry picking after the girls' naps. Since they were so good and actually slept, we came along. The orchard was beautiful, and they had so many fresh fruits and veggies, just ripe for pickin'! We stuck to the blackberries and peaches, but I could have gone crazy in the veggie section. (that's the vegan in me!)

More pics coming after this.

First Blush

They were OFF as soon as they got their buckets.

The bounty

Luckily these blackberries are thornless. A far cry from the ones we're used to in WA.

Sneaky girl!

Sneaky boy!

Thoroughly enjoying herself.

That bucket was heavy!

Showing off the goods.

A spider!!

Mmmm, so good!

Well I for one want to know where we in WA can get thornless blackberries? I hate picking and getting pricked to many times. Everything looked so green and pretty. We all had to pick our fruit and grow it along with veggies and it was some of our best memories of summer.

What an awesome day for the girls, they sure had some buckets full. They really took their picking serious too. Loved the expressions on their faces. Abby carrying that heavy bucket cracked me up LOL Learning to harvest their own food is such a great lesson.

What a beautiful orchard!! What a rich experience for the girls, to get their produce right off the farm, and to have harvested it themselves.
