Day 38 of 365 project - Books

by Pete Fitzgetald February. 07, 2018 870 views

I wasn't sure what I wanted to do for this theme, so I thought I would share with you my favorite Books. I love to read, I did the electronic books, but there is something to be said for sitting by a window or fire and falling deep inside the pages of a great story, I guess it is a tactile kind of thing of holding it and turning the pages, the smell of the aged print.

So Besides the obvious Peter Pan (currently on loan to my God daughter) here are my totally favorite books. Anything written by the great Western writer Louis L'Amour, My Dr. Who Companion, the Private letters of the late great satirist Groucho Marx and last but not least my Favorite Science Fiction writer Jim Butcher and his snarky anti Hero Harry Dresden in the Dresden Files.

Reading is fundamental a great escape so if its an e-reader or a old school paper book, go for it what do you like to Read "And  I"?

My house is full of paper books. Every time someone suggests that I get rid of them, I go through them one at a time, and say "Yeah, but I can't get rid of that one! And, damn, I should read that one again"...and on and on, can't make myself get rid of any of them.
I'm with you on Louis L'Amour, Pete!
I'll have to look into Jim Butcher, not familiar with his work.

I agree with you, nothing can replace the feel of turning pages in a book. I too would rather hold a heavy book in my hand than an e-reader. :)

For the moment I am reading the works from Edgar Allen Poe. In American English, not so easy for me. Hemingway and Tolkien are my favs.

Hemingway is great - he can say so much with so few words.
