This is the story of a flat-lander moving stakes to the Hills of Maine

Fitzy Hawk Mountain Waterford Maine

Entry 1:  Prologue

Who would have thought that after 54 years I would leave my family, my home and the majority of my friends in Massachusetts to live in the state of Maine.

For the last 30 years I have been responsible for or have taken care of a few family members, and now that chapter is coming to an end, through no doing of my own. As of this fall I am losing the home I was to take over and purchase

and my job, a job that I loved for 11 years, due the Company is relocating and not taking Security with them.

and due to those two things my wife and I

have come to the conclusion, that the state of Massachusetts is a dead end for us we can no longer afford to start over and live in this state. Therefore we say Bye Felicia!

Another deciding factor in the move is my wife’s job of 22 years, that she loved and has worked and moved up the ranks to office manager has become unhealthy and an undesirable place to work due to the old and previously “Silent” co-owner has pushed her way back into the business and forced out her my wife’s boss, and replaced her with a bitter, angry know-it-all that shouldn’t be in charge of cutting a peanut butter sandwich let alone be the face and run the business. However that is her story to tell not mine.

I do not own this photo/image. thank you internet for the loan.

So here we are soon to be jobless and homeless with our prospects in flux, planning our next Life’s adventure, maybe we are going to a simpler style of life or we could flame out like a bag of poop lit on fire and left on a door step.

this photo does not belong to me and this is not my poop...just saying!

The prospects are mind boggling aren’t they and as scary as a giant Gorilla in heat.

I am very excited about everything, well everything but the Gorilla thing, because lets face it, not my type, anyone with a better mustache than me I will have an issue with and on top of that HELLLLLLLLLLOOOOOO its a Gorilla!

Original story posted on here as well.

I have a saying since I was 14. It says:
Quando l'abilità col cul contrasta,
Vince il cul, l'abilità non basta.
That means
When your skills contrast with your "ass" (It means great luck)
The ass wins, the skills are not enough!
So, my dearest, funny and beloved friend, I wish you the greatest "cul" (Ass. See above) someone could ever wish for! smile

Moreover, Main in an excellent choice.
There's Angela Lansbury (Murder she wrote), a ton of lobsters. Unfortunately, it's freezing cold, and there are a lot of horror stories in that Country (Stephen King)

Have fun in Maine, you two.
We all love you, and we wish you all the best! blue heart

YAYYYY.
If you meet him, could you please tell him that a book can be great even if it hasn't 800-1.000 pages???
250 to 400 is ok! smile

You too my dear, are pretty cool.
I hope, wherever you go, you can find funny friends and giant roosters to ride! smile

Don't hesitate, start over and become your own boss! There is nothing more exciting as to turn your back to a know-it-all and other dumb people, although it will cause some butterflies in your stomach. I'm sure, your humor - beside your skills - will be your best guide to a new life.

Best of luck to you! That's a lot of change at one time, but also a lot of opportunity for new adventures, which I'm sure you will make the best of. smile

Fitz I have no doubt that in many respects these are scary times but I believe everything happens for a reason. With your sense of humor and your positive outlook on life (that is what I have deduced from your posts) you and your partner in crime will land on your feet.
In the meantime here's something to help your practice your Japanese as well as get you moving smile
