No matter our age or stage, or whether we are into ice cream or spring rolls - we all inevitably go through stages of self doubt, self question and just plain confusion. Sometimes we turn to a loved one/a guru/a therapist for answers, but what if those discussions cause more confusion - what is your next step ? Well, I hate to disappoint you, but I do not think there is one set of answers to our questions. I think each question has more like a multiple choice type situation. You can either sit still and wait for the confusion to dissipate (may take a while ?), move backwards in the hopes to out manoeuvre or move forward hoping that progress will clear the path ahead. Each of us are different and each of us react differently, so if you find yourself in this grey space - plan a 'grey attack'.
Some ideas :
- have a cup of tea.
- chat to someone you can trust; talk about your fears, hope and dreams. Make sure it is a non judgmental situation.
- do some yoga or meditation. If you are not too sure how, then google some youtube videos or attend your local classes.
- write a list of what is bugging you and potential solutions to each. From the smallest to the biggest bug.
- have some more tea :)
- then finally once you have percolated all the ideas and options at your disposal, write a plan on how to get that dream job, how to ditch that dreamy but disasterous boyfriend or how to find your path in this crazy world.
And last but not least, always remember you are never alone. We ALL have someone we can turn to for counsel - our bestie, our pet, our Spiritual Advisor, our pen pal miles away, you name it - there is someone that will give you the support and encouragement that you need. You are all on a journey and all need a lending hand along the way.
