Some insights after eight months living in Panama

  • Opportunities are everywhere, you just need to go out and find them.
  • Don't always think linear. The world is three dimensional.
  • Trust is earned, not given.
  • Ants bite sore !! [Ants range in size here from teeny tiny to those wearing sunglasses and hats.]
  • Lots of different bugs bite and leave very itchy bites (which last for weeks).
  • How to best handle potholes and power failures.
  • Trust in your own abilities. Trust yourself.
  • A smile goes a long way (especially when there is a language barrier).
  • With a good attitude, you can accomplish so much.
  • NEVER give up on your dreams. AND I mean never !
  • The world is full of immigrants and many also live in Panama namely :

  1. American
  2. Colombian
  3. German
  4. French
  5. Italian
  6. Chinese
  7. Mexican
  8. Australian
  9. British
  10. Canadian
  11. South African
  • Scorpions and snakes are REAL !
  • There are some strange (and in some cases deadly) fruit out there.
  • Animals can live well off only grass.
  • Driving on the right side of the road.
  • Learning a new language.
  • Rice and beans are delicious.
  • To keep going even when you don't feel like it.
  • There is still kindness, generosity and hope in the world.
  • But then on the flip side, there are also mean people everywhere in the world.
  • Crime is everywhere - it just varies in degree.
  • There are literally thousands of shades of green.
  • Many people need help, but do not know how to ask.
  • True friendships can span different continents.
  • How to be stronger physically and emotionally.
  • How to let the past be the past.

This list is only the tip of the iceberg, but I thought that you would find it interesting. Leave a comment or question below.

Much Love

Jennifer
