The term 'being brave' can come in many different forms.
This can be trying out a new soda, a new gym, a new hat or moving to a new country or job. Many moments of each day take a moment or moments of being brave.
Some of us put on a suit or makeup to get through the challenge whilst others merely put on a brave face.
In school, my biggest fear was standing in front of the class doing orals. These orals seem to happen many times a day in different classes.
I would be so consumed with my fear that I would barely hear the other students give their well-prepared orals. My heart would race, my legs turn to absolute jelly and sweat covers my brow. Over the years, my fear of public speaking has lessened with practice and knowing my subject.
Being brave every day is exhausting and often leaves me wanting to hide from the world. From time to time, I shall hide to give myself a chance to rest and regroup. Then the next day, I place one foot in front of the other and show the world that I am brave even if in very small ways.
Some days clothes and make up will give me superpowers, but ultimately my camera is my not so secret weapon. Each time I lift my camera, I feel fearless, energised and in love with the world around me.
What gives you your superpowers?
