What is Going on?

(Camellia Staab) #1

Ram what is going on. You don’t acknowledge post that are pornographic or posts that are promotions for items that have no relevance to photography yet this “system” your “system” has put what seems like personal/legit posts under review “until they can be reviewed by moderator” under hold. What is that all about?

(Abigail Gossage) #2

I think Ram has abandoned the site, happy to take our money but not willing to put any time into proper maintenance. Just my take on the situation…

(Berckmans Peter) #3

I fear that is the case

(Berckmans Peter) #4

Maybe we can make a FB group that we can join and so we have a sure place to keep contact if something would happen with PB. FB is not my fav place but it is something;

(Camellia Staab) #5

I am all for this idea. Be it fb or anyplace else.

(Berckmans Peter) #6

It has to be a place where everybody can join. I am not so into social media, so any suggestions. I have seen many photographic groups on fb

(Paul Moreau) #7

let me explore… don’t use FB much have an account…

(Paul Moreau) #8

FB site here. Holding pattern if nothing else Even if we decide another way this is at least somewhere for like-minded people to stay in touch.

Can someone let me know if this works?

(Berckmans Peter) #9

This could work .have to see what way we want to go. Some basic rules what this group is about .

(Craig Casterline) #10

I’m in as wel for whatever avenue you choose.

(Camellia Staab) #11

I requested for you to open up the doors Paul

(Nancy Andrea D) #12

Yes, me too. I would like to be in the group and I will open an account in FB or wherever to join all of you. I am very happy with the group at PB and it would be a pity that if fell apart.

(Abigail Gossage) #13

We could always look at Flickr, 500px, smugmug etc although I would prefer to stay here.

(Camellia Staab) #14

Abigail, I think most have come from those other places you have mentioned. None have what Photoblog has. I have invested time and photos here, so I too would rather not go anywhere as long as PB continues to stay running.

It is such a shame there are so many anomalies in this platform. The general layout suits me but there are several changes needed to bring it up to standard. For instance, I tried entering the Title ‘Nature’s Wonders’ for a category and it came up with a ridiculous error message!

I have asked Flickr if they would consider an add on to their site, similar in layout as Photoblog. They are going to explore it and if they do, I will be gone. It’s just not fair that no attention is being paid to look after their subscribers needs on this platform.

(Steveandjustyna Nomads) #16

Hi Mike!

Please, let us all know on this Forum what was Flickr response to your request.

We would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks!

I have to agree with you, Camellia! I really don’t want to go elsewhere. This is a great platform for sharing photography but also for looking at great photos with no distraction - a means to turn off in our hustle-bustle world.
Has there been any feedback from the owner of the site?

(Camellia Staab) #18

Absolutely no response to anything from Ram. So we continue in hopes that either he comes back or someone else takes it over. It still makes me wonder how at a time where sites are popping up left and right, not one site has any resemblance to Photoblog…almost like this program/setup has a very tight copyright.

It is possible something unfortunate happened to Ram. Is there any info on him so we can go looking for him?
