Human sexuality

I find it interesting that a lot of women are insecure with their own sexuality. At the start of my swimming class, I noticed only one (older) woman was showering completely naked. However, the rest showered without removing their bathing suits at all. Once they went to change, they used their towel to cover up/hide their bodies. The first couple of times, I did the same thing. I didn't take off my bathing suit because no one was taking it off, but, I felt completely awkward! I thought to myself “What's the point of showering if you can't clean your body thoroughly?!” (You may think that's common sense but until you are in a situation where you feel you have to conform with social norms, you will not understand how difficult it can be to break them)
So, I moved close to the lady who was showering naked and I started showering naked as well. Soon after, more & more ladies were doing the same. Out of the 11 of us now 5 are showering naked. It only takes one person to initiate a behavior in order to prompt others to do the same. The media and society bring about a lot of insecurity among women. They make us think our bodies must look a certain way to be considered “beautiful”. If our bodies do not remotely resemble that of a model or actress, we automatically want to hide our bodies from others and even ourselves. How sad is that? We should all be comfortable with our own skin!! Remember, you need to feel comfortable with yourself and your body before you can be comfortable with someone else!
