St. Elmo, Colorado - A Look Into The Past

by Jean Paul Escalera June. 27, 2017 1700 views

Last week we spent a few days with family in Colorado Springs. Our son took us up to the old ghost town of St. Elmo. This town was founded in 1880 and sits at an elevation of 9,961 feet in he heart of the beautiful Sawatch Range of mountains, about 20 miles southwest of Buena Vista.

At one time nearly 2,000 people settled in this town when mining for gold and silver started. What an interesting place to walk around. Well worth the drive!

We must have been in Colorado Springs at the same time.  I didn't see this so thanks for sharing...it's like stepping back in time.

Thank you and glad you liked the pics! I hope you get to see it the next you are in the area. St. Elmo is about 113 miles, 2 1/2 hrs. from the Springs.
