1930s Cast Iron Boston Terrier Doorstop by Hubley

The story behind our K-Man Dog dates back, according to my eldest brother, when he was a kid growing up during the Great Depression.

As I was growing up I remember “The Dog Game”. There’s my two older brothers, my sister all grown on their own and me with my parents. We all lived in different areas.

When we would visit each other, the day you left to go home you would sneak the dog out of the house and take it home. By doing so meant that if you want the dog you would have to visit and try to sneak the dog out!

The dog had disappeared for a very long time, everyone claimed they did not have her, that she got lost with relocating from one place to another.

I was quite persistent to finding out where she was. K-Man Dog appeared at my doorstep one day.

Maybe the tradition will continue on one day. There is always hope, but they'll need to come visit me!
