When I took this image about ten years ago it struck me as quite oriental in composition, reminding me of a Japanese print or Chinese table ware like the Willow Pattern. So I messed around with it in Photoshop to produce a porcelain plate effect. I've just stumbled on it today and for the life of me I cannot remember how I did it. I am now an Affinity boy anyway so it would be a different method.
How about a challenge to all Photobloggers out there?
If you want a bit of fun or a challenge, find an image in your back catalogue you think might work and have a go and see if you can replicate the effect?
I think the critical factors are an image that will work high contrast in monochrome that is quite stylised. The porcelain white and that particular blue, is it ultramarine? And the slight bleeding of the blue into the white.
Sorry there are no prizes.

Sounds like fun. I'll see what I can do.
I created a forum for the challenge.

That's great, although ironically i can't use the forum. Nothing works.
And, of course, we can't add photos here.
We can on the Facebook group, I think?
That would involve only a few people. How about I solicit entries via a Blog and give the link for the Forum. People can submit a singe photo, then I will download them and use them to create another Blog and people could vote. Sound good?
You can send me an entry via FaceBook.
Go for it. Sounds good.
