Kevin and I are having a few days holiday in Paris this week. We've both travelled past and through Paris before but have never actually stopped here so we're looking forward to seeing all the sights. We're staying in the La Defense area of Paris, just a stone's through from the Grand Arche. It really is the most amazing building - absolutely enormous and virtually impossible to photograph without a serious wide angle lens! However, these are the best of the ones I took when we went out for dinner this evening. If you stand well back from the edge of the arch's terrace it looks as though there is a sheer drop ahead of you, although there are actually steps down to ground level. I liked the second of these shots because it looks like the man I've included is about to step off the edge of the world. In the distance you can just see the Arc de Triomphe. The third of today's photos is an abstract shot looking upwards inside the arch at all the wires holding the lifts and a canopy in place.
