We had lots of heavy rain overnight and early this morning so there were lots of large puddles around as I drove to school. Along side the road I take to school on Thursday there is a stream which usually runs underneath the road. However, after heavy rain it always breaks out of its usual route, finding other paths through the bank and then running across the surface of the road rather than underneath. Today was no exception and I noticed this branch of the stream on my way past at lunchtime. Unfortunately I didn't have time to stop so I made a point of stopping on my way home this afternoon. By this time the rain had stopped and the flow had eased from a raging torrent to an energetic stream but I still liked it enough to take some photos. I used a slow shutter speed to give a silky feel to the water and framed it between the trees along the banks.
