Nothing is ever quite what you expect

I had some errands to run in Chichester this morning so I took my camera with me with the aim of finding today??s photo while I was out. Its funny how these things work ?? you go somewhere with a definite picture in your mind of what the day??s photo will be and you end up with something completely different! My original aim was to take some photos of the Pallant House Art Gallery but the lighting wasn??t quite right and I just couldn??t get the composition I wanted. Instead I came up with these two shots.
The first is the clock which hangs outside the old Shippams factory in Chichester. The company started making meat paste in Chichester in 1750 and until a few years ago they were still using their original premises in the centre of town with this rather individual clock, complete with a wishbone, hanging outside. Manufacturing now takes place in a factory on the outskirts of the city and the old building has been converted into shops. Once the conversion of the building was finished the clock was reinstated to remind passers by of the building??s history.
My second shot is an abstract of one of the curvy metal benches outside the District Council offices, not far from the Shippams building. I like the way the light reflects off the metal in different colours and the curving lines as they drift out of focus in the distance.
