Lacock Abbey

It??s been my birthday today and by luck I was able to rearrange my teaching so I could spend the day with some photographer friends at Lacock in Wiltshire. The whole of Lacock village is owned by the National Trust and it??s a photographer??s paradise. I took 235 photos during the course of the day around the village and in the Abbey and its gardens. I haven??t had time to go through all of them since I??ve been home but I??ve posted the two which jumped off the screen at me as I zipped through them this evening.

There were crocuses as far as the eye could see - a carpet of purple - so I focussed on these, leaving the others as a blur behind.

I love the textures of this door to the Abbey Cloisters and the iron door handle. There was quite a breeze so the handle kept moving - this was as the closest I could get to capturing it while stationary!

Great to see you have been to the home of photography - I love the door handle - the texture of the wood is fantastic.

happy birthday. Both shots are v nice--esp like the textures of the second, and like the contrast of one to two.
