Pretty in pink

While I was walking through the walled gardens at West Dean yesterday I spotted some lovely pink blossom in one of the glasshouses and decided to go back this morning to see if I could take some decent photos of it. I had assumed it was cherry blossom when I saw the flowers yesterday but on closer inspection I found it was actually a nectarine tree. The light was beautiful at West Dean this morning and I had some fun shooting the flowers with the light shining through their petals. This one was my favourite if the bunch, with one flower in focus and the others in various states of blurriness.

Gorgeous color! Who would have thought that a nectarine tree would have lovely pink blossoms!
