Sipping the nectar

Today??s shot was very much a case of being in the right place at the right time. As I walked over to the dining hall this evening I saw one of the students rescuing this cabbage white butterfly from the corridor and placing it on a buddleia bush. I had my camera with me so I grabbed a few shots and when I downloaded them I found this one was reasonably well in focus. It may not be a particularly exotic or beautiful butterfly but it??s the first time I??ve managed any butterfly shots so I don??t think it??s too bad for a first attempt!

Very nice. It reminds me that our southern summer can't be so very far away.

Lovely. There are lots of these in my garden at the moment and I have to keep rescuing them from the cats who like to chase and chew them!
