I was at a bit of a loss as to what to shoot for today??s photo so this afternoon I went out in the garden armed with my camera and macro lens, determined to find a subject. It was very windy so leave and flowers were something of a non-starter but as I wandered around I spotted some nuts (hazelnuts I think) lying on the grass. I don??t remember the tree they fell from having produced nuts before (although this is only our third summer living here) but it??s covered in them at the moment ?? I wonder whether they??re an edible variety? I liked the colour and texture of this particular specimen so I brought it into my music room and set about photographing it. I tried various approaches but in the end I like the dreamy effect I??ve caught here by using my lens at its maximum aperture of f2.8.
