Apple harvest

by Helen Hooker September. 26, 2009 4136 views

Kevin harvested the apples today from the tree in our front garden. This particular tree seems to be of the ??all or nothing variety?? as the size of our harvest has varied wildly. The first year we moved here it produced three apples while last year we had 300! This year??s crop was somewhat more modest ?? a mere 17. Having said that, it made dealing with them a lot easier as they all fitted into the one saucepan for stewing! This shot is one I took just before I chopped them all up and cooked them.

Nice close-up - I like the vivid colour. Strange that there is such a wide variation in the size of the crop - I'd put it down to global warming... let's face it everything else is!
