The architecture of nature

I went out for a short drive this afternoon, determined to find my photo for today. It was very grey and dull again so rather than going for sweeping landscapes I was looking for details. I found these ferns and was struck by the wonderful patterns of their fronds. I decided the architectural quality of them worked better in monochrome than colour.

miniature christmas trees put together!! :) as children we used to place the ferns with their white powder to get 'natural tatoos' on the arm.
