I saw some photos of Liquorice Allsort sweets in a magazine last week and they struck me as being good subjects for a colourful photo so when we went shopping today I bought a bag. In the end they proved a harder subject to pin down than I??d expected and it took a long while to find some compositions I was reasonably happy with. These two shots were my favourites, although I??m sure I could have done better with more time. Who??d have thought a few sweets could be such a challenge!

Very nice, though at first I thought it was going to be a load of "bah humbug"

My favourite is the second one with the bright contrast between the yellow sweet and red background (even though this is my least favourite Allsort!)

Back to the bosom of the Basset bard, eh? I enjoy the first one most. So, what about our joint effort? The word 'challenge' sounds needlessly competitive, but I do enjoy contrasting our different approaches to a single theme. Your turn, I believe.

By the way, do they still make Callard & Bowser's Liquorice Toffees? Not photogenic at all, but I was addicted to them as a child.
