My Mum and I visited Gunwharf Quays in Portsmouth today for a spot of retail therapy. The weather was pretty grim so I just took my little compact camera along on the off-chance of finding something to shoot. After lunch I saw a view of the Spinnaker Tower which I??d never noticed before ?? looking up through the canopy around the base of the tower. The bollards I??ve included here have featured on my blog before ?? I like the contrast between their stark black and white paintwork and the texture of the paving and wood beneath them. I spotted the final shot as we crossed the bridge over the canal ?? the bolts in the wooden planks remind me of the dot-to-dot puzzles I used to do as a child. As the weather was so dreary, and all of these views were largely monochrome in any case, I thought I??d make this a black and white set to bring out the lines and textures.
