Sprinting into springtime

Goodwood Motor Circuit hosted its annual Spring Sprint today so Kevin and I went along to take a look. There was a huge variety of cars participating, from ancient bone shakers through to modern sports cars however, as ever, my favourites in photographic terms were the 1960s and ??70s cars. We spent a while watching the cars shimmying out of the chicane (thankfully they all managed to keep on the track) then took a stroll around the paddock. I was rather taken with a Ford GT40 (a replica rather than an original) which the owner opened up for me to take some shots inside. Perhaps the most surreal moment of the day was when two Tesla Roadsters took to the track. They??re electric cars and almost silent ?? as they zipped around the chicane my camera shutter was actually noisier than they were!

I'm guessing the face mask is intended to keep the bugs out!

This Sunbeam was almost on three wheels at times

A replica Ford GT40 - in classic Gulf Racing colours.

There's something just so satisfying about the Gulf Racing colour scheme

The Ford GT40 window mechanism…..

….and its steering wheel

The near silent Tesla Roadster

The other Tesla was painted this eye-catching green - it looked great in the bright sunshine

I can't visit Goodwood without photographing a Mini!

This one's for Cristina - a classic Alfa Romeo.

Looks like a wonderful time... could not agree with you more on the Gulf colours!
