The same.... but different

I??ve always found something appealing about lone trees in the landscape so when I spotted this one on my way to Rugby this morning I dived into the handily placed lay-by right opposite to take some photos. At the time (about 10.30am) it was pretty dull and overcast, with a uniformly grey sky, and it immediately struck me as being ideal for a high contrast monochrome treatment. However, by the time I returned past the same spot at 5.30 this evening the light was much better and there were some wonderfully dramatic clouds behind the tree. I thought I??d post both photos here to see which you all prefer!

At 10.30am….

… and the same spot seven hours later

Wow, both so different, yet both amazing shots....the contrasts between the two are so interesting!

Wow, the first has more balance, but the sevond is more dramatic. As I love B/W I would try to change the 2nd in it.

Hard to choose as they are so different. The first one graphic, the second quite romantic. I like them both, but I am a colour junkie, so it will have to be #2

What a difference the sky and lighting make. The clouds certainly make the second look much more interesting.
