Major pipework

We??re very lucky at the Recorder Summer School to have a large number of students who bring their big recorders along with them to the course. We have about a dozen great basses and a similar number of contrabasses. One of the contras was standing near the window in the hall this evening so I took the opportunity to take a close up of some of the keywork. These instruments are well over six feet tall and make a wonderful sound ?? having so many of them here makes a fabulous addition to the sound of our massed playing sessions. If only I could give you an idea of the astonishing tone these instruments produce via a photo!

Very informative. I had no idea a contrabass recorder existed or how big it is. Great shot btw.

Wonderful detail. How did you get both the top and bottom keys blurred and yet keep the center one clear? Fantastic job. Wish I could hear what they sound like.
