I returned to Bognor Regis this afternoon to accompany a pupil for an exam so I set off a little early to go for a quick walk on the beach beforehand. However, when I arrived I realised I was wearing completely inappropriate shoes for walking on a pebbly beach as they filled with stones at every step! Luckily I didn??t have to venture too far as I spotted a nicely weathered groyne quite near the top of the beach. I spent a few minutes shooting the worn wood and the rusty ironwork but it was this simple shot of a small pebble (probably about an inch long) sitting on the groyne??s horizontal beam that really caught my eye with its wavy patterns being beautifully illuminated by the warm afternoon sunshine.

Love the shadow and DOF in this
